Accessory supplier Thyssenkrupp now also offers its braided carbon rims for the Ducati Panigale V4 / V4 S / V4 R models.

Thyssenkrupp claims to be the first manufacturer to offer braided carbon rims, which also feature the single-sided swing arm construction on the hindquarters of the Ducati Panigale V4 harmonize.

The carbon wheel set, which is road legal worldwide and has an ABE with KBA number for Germany, should fit all Ducati Panigale V4, V4 S and V4 R models. The front wheel is 3.5×17 inches, the rear wheel is 6×17 inches. The cost of the set of braided carbon rims for the Ducati Panigale V4, V4 S and V4 R is 3,799 euros (19% VAT). As an alternative to the clear, glossy lacquered version, a matt lacquer variant is also available. It costs 298 euros extra.

The manufacturer does not yet provide any information on weights. For other models of similar sizes, Thyssenkrupp gives 1.9 kilograms for the front wheel and 2.9 kilograms for the rear wheel.

It has been possible to reserve the carbon wheels since the beginning of 2021. From May 2021 the first pre-reserved rims will be delivered to customers. Those who have ordered since April 1st, 2021 have to wait around 12 to 16 weeks for their carbon bikes due to the high demand and hundreds of reservations.

Conclusion

Carbon rims not only look great, thanks to their low weight they also bring real advantages in terms of driving dynamics. But they are not cheap.
