Guzzi Motobox

The Catalan Guzzi specialists from Guzzi Motobox or GMB99 congratulate them on the 100th birthday of Moto Guzzi. But not with a card and a serenade, but with a posh conversion of a Bellagio from 2011 – packed as a gift in a model box. More on that later. Now to the engine. Great engine tuning with massive displacement for Guzzis is available from Radical Guzzi in Schwarzenfeld. Over the years, Stefan Bronold has built an excellent reputation among Guzzisti and offers engines with up to 1,700 cubic meters. Such an engine on Based on a Griso twin from 2008 order the Motoboxer from Spain in the Upper Palatinate region and book the big package: more hub. More drilling. More of everything. Together with flat slide carburetors, a special digital ignition, classic engine tuning with a new crankshaft, machined cylinder head and a lot of know-how on the test bench, 160 Nm and 142 PS are pushed into the cardan in the end. Meanwhile, Motobox has not been idle in Catalonia.

Only the frame remains

With Motobox, only the main frame, the gearbox and the cardan remain of the Bellagio in the end. And even on the frame, the men still lend a hand: the steering head is reworked and stands for more agile handling steeper. On the standard cardan, a milled torque support strives for order when accelerating the lightweight magnesium rim and a TTX strut from Ohlins is supported by a new, higher rear frame. Milled triple clamps from Motobox hold the Ohlins USD fork in place in the steeper steering head. The rim of a Yamaha R1 rotates in their feet, garnished with six-piston brakes from Beringer.

Is the V2 of a Moto Guzzi installed lengthways or crossways?

Across the way, of course. The cylinders are at 90 degrees to the direction of travel, as with an in-line engine.
