1st race (July 29, 5:35 p.m., 14 laps)
Josef Sattler / Uwe Neubert were able to get a taste of leadership again, even if the duo didn’t win in the end. Bennie Streuer / Gerard Daalhuizen had already registered their claims during training.
The unlucky person needed that again. Only he couldn’t savor the feeling. The 2016 champions, Bennie Streuer / Gerard Daalhuizen from the Netherlands, took the lead. And finally, Sattler also had to let the experienced World Cup crew with Markus Schlosser / Thomas Hofer pass by. In the end, times fell into the basement. But the first three drove almost the same. With his victory, Schlosser continued to build on the overall standings, as Andre Kretzer / Manfred “Yeti” Wechselberger, who were close to the table, only finished fourth. Sattler, on the other hand, who received three zeros at the start of the season, celebrated his first podium of the season.
The interest group Gespannrennen e.V. (IGG) informs fans and visitors in Schleiz about their sport on three wheels in their own tent and implements the motto of the “open paddock” in a tried and tested manner. Boss Dieter Eilers, actually already retired, dared a guest start in the IDM Sidecar on Saturday with Roman Grobner in the boat, but only managed two laps due to technical problems.
2nd race, (30.7, 4.10 p.m., 14 laps)
The Schlosser team wins by a clear margin

The Schlosser team started the race from pole position with a rocket launch. Directly behind him, the first row in the order of the starting grid threaded into the first corner. The rest of the field also passed the first corner without any special incidents. The team of defending champion Bennie Streuer was far from defeated and took over the front of the field from the fourth lap. Schlosser, in turn, did not put up with that. In the seventh lap he started the return coach. The overtaking maneuver was the cornerstone of the eventual victory. Because he showed why he could assert himself at the top. The Swiss driver not only drove the fastest race lap with 1: 31.549 min, but also steadily increased his lead over the Streuer team. When he crossed the finish line, he had a lead of 8.226 seconds. Streuer again had a gap of 7.633 seconds on the third-placed Sattler team.
Dieter Eilers’ team, who has already talked about hanging his career on the famous nail several times, but still appears again and again as a guest starter, was first in fifth place, but the East Frisian had to park his vehicle on lap six with technical problems.
