The MotoGP circus will also be performing in Hungary from 2023. The marketer Dorna announced corresponding plans at the beginning of March. Now there are first drafts of the route.

The new MotoGP project was presented on Thursday (March 4th, 2021) in Budapest. The presentation laid the foundation for a new venue on the motorcycle world championship calendar.
New route in Debrecen
The upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix will take place on a new circuit. The start of construction on the new course, which should offer absolutely world-class level, is expected in the second quarter of 2021. The venue is located in Debrecen, Hungary’s second largest city in the Hajdúság region. This creates a completely new motorsport center in the region, which aims to win fans in Hungary and to expand the MotoGP calendar to Central Europe.
Dromo
The Magyar Nemzetkozi Motodrom is designed by Italian racetrack designer Dromo. The 5050 meter long and 14 meter wide track is driven around to the left. However, it can also be divided into two smaller courses with lengths of 1,659 and 3,615 meters, which can be traveled independently of each other. The layout of the new Hungary course is based on routes such as Assen, Suzuka, Termas de Rio Hondo and Philip Island.
The new course is also intended to attract numerous fans from the neighboring countries of Slovakia, Ukraine and Romania.
As early as 2009 Hungary made an attempt to gain a foothold in MotoGP. The Balatonring, which was planned as a race track, was never completed due to financial difficulties.
Conclusion
Hungary is making a fresh attempt to gain a foothold in MotoGP. For this purpose, a new world-class racetrack is to be built. From 2023, the racing circus will then make a guest appearance in Hungary.
