Suzuki surprisingly won the MotoGP title in 2020 with Joan Mir. For the 2021 season, the Japanese are sticking to the driver line-up.

Suzuki was the last MotoGP team to present its team and its bikes for the 2021 season on the fringes of the Qatar test drives. Only the logos of the new sponsor Monster Energy ensure a fresh appearance.
The driver pairing Joan Mir and Alex Rins, who have been gripping the handlebars for Suzuki since 2019, also remains unchanged. Defending champion Joan Mir renounces the start number 1 to which he is entitled and continues with the start number 36. Alex Rins finished third in the 2020 World Cup. In addition to Sylvain Guintoli, Suzuki continues to rely on Takuya Tsuda as a test driver.

However, Suzuki has to do without long-time team manager Davide Brivio. He said goodbye to Formula 1, where he will take over the race management of the new Renault racing team Alpine. The position was not filled by Brivio. The team wants to redistribute the tasks internally in the future.
