Over 12,000 PS readers took part in the 2020 readers’ choice and selected the winners: Here you are!

The trophy for the horsepower premier class – the superbikes – is traveling back over the Alps to Munich this year. Two years in a row, Ducati hit readers in Category I with the Panigale V4 “Super athlete over 990 cubic meters” right into the heart, now the S 1000 RR from BMW has made it back to the top after more than three years. The top climber is the new Honda Fireblade, it not only pushed itself up to three percent on the BMW, but also pushed the Ducati into 3rd place.

Japanese bikes on the rise

Incidentally, more Japanese bikes made their way into the top three places: With seven awards, there are three podium places more than in 2018 and 2019. But this time there was no victory. Both Honda’s Africa twin and Kawasaki’s Z 1000 SX have lost their first places from 2019, with the Kawasaki falling completely off the podium among the sporty all-rounders. MV Agusta, still strong with two podiums in 2019, did not cast a spell over PS readers in 2020 either.

A Yamaha MT-09 SP was raffled off as the main prize among all participants.

Among the best brands, i.e. the top brands in accessories, Akrapovic, Ohlins and Brembo are still among the high-flyers – other brands seem to have no chance here. The only change here overall: Metzeler takes over from Pirelli.
