A new helmet shell made of fiberglass is supposed to make you forget the weak shock absorption values of the predecessor. But that didn’t make the C4 any lighter.

The C4 Pro is an extremely quiet helmet, only when the visor is open does it tend to “sing” in the area of the visor mechanism behind fairing windows in some speed ranges.

Equipped with the high-quality Pinlock 120 system, the visor with the extremely large and cloud-free field of vision of the C4 Pro is absolutely fog-free even under the most adverse conditions.

The sun visor can be easily operated using the slide on the side.

As with the predecessor, putting on and taking off is child’s play, the mechanics have not changed.

What is new, however, is the Coolmax inner lining, which ensures a pleasant climate under the helmet even at higher temperatures.

To further reduce the noise level, it was made even tighter around the face. Anyone who builds wide in the lower jaw area can run into problems here. It can also be tight for drivers with a thick neck, as the chin strap sits relatively far back due to the split helmet shell.

It has become even quieter, more comfortable and offers extensive equipment and top workmanship.

However, it has also become heavier and is still very expensive with prices starting at 599 euros for plain models and 699 euros for decor versions.

Already the Schuberth C4 could with MOTORCYCLE in the helmet test climb the podium, but its shock absorption values were only below average. Reason enough for Schuberth to modify the C4. While the old C4 remains in the program as C4 Basic, the new version comes as C4 Pro.
New shell and very quiet
While the C4 still relies on a helmet shell made of fiberglass, the new helmet shell is made of fiberglass (the C4 Pro Carbon version is made of carbon fiber laminate). The multi-part construction of the inner shell should enable a high level of force absorption and thus make you forget the weak shock absorption values of the predecessor. In terms of weight, there are no advantages for the new design. The old C4 weighed 1,684 grams in the test, the new C4 Pro weighs 1,706 grams (size 59, with Pinlock and intercom pre-installation). The C4 was able to maintain the very low noise level. Schuberth states 85 dB (A) at 100 km / h, subjectively we can say – yes, the C4 Pro is really quiet. Only when the visor is open does it tend to “sing” in the area of the visor mechanism behind fairing windows in some speed ranges.
Great function, easy operation
Equipped with the high-quality Pinlock 120 system, the visor with the extremely large field of vision of the C4 Pro is absolutely fog-free even under the most adverse conditions. A visor change is easily possible without tools. If necessary, the openings on the chin and on top of the helmet shell, which are easy to use even with gloves, ventilate the helmet without drafts. The integrated sun visor can also be operated very easily and safely using the slide control – but we already know that from its predecessor.

As with the predecessor, putting it on and taking it off is child’s play, the mechanics have not changed either. What is new, however, is the Coolmax inner lining, which ensures a pleasant climate under the helmet even at higher temperatures. To further reduce the noise level, it was made even tighter around the face. Anyone who builds wide in the lower jaw area can run into problems here. It can also get tight for drivers with a thick neck, because the chin strap sits relatively far back due to the split helmet shell. Schuberth relies on its own helmet size system, and our experience shows that it is always better to choose one size larger. The eyeglass channels in the lining are convenient for those who wear aids. We didn’t like the dirt-sensitive matt paintwork. Remnants of insects smear easily and are more difficult to remove than on glossy helmet surfaces.
Prepared for communication system
Schuberth
Small compartments on the back of the helmet accommodate the communication modules.
With its integrated antenna, pre-installed speakers and microphone, the C4 Pro is already prepared for use with the SC1 and SC2 communication systems. The corresponding modules are simply inserted into compartments in the helmet. However, we have not tried these systems.
