Flip-up helmets are known per se. however, the Australian manufacturer Vozz is taking a different approach. His helmets do not open the chin part, but the back part of the helmet shell.

The Australian helmet manufacturer Vozz came onto the market with its idiosyncratic flip-up helmet back in 2016 – so far, however, the flip-up helmet with the Heckeinstig is only available in Australia and New Zealand. Now the guys from down under want to target the rest of the world as well. The Vozz helmet should already meet the European ECE standard and the American DOT test, sales partners are still being sought.

Secure fit without a chinstrap

And what makes the Vozz helmet so unique? His folding technique. While conventional helmets fold up the chin section, the Vozz helmet folds up the rear section of the helmet shell. This means that the Vozz helmet can do without the classic chin strap – an adjustable chin part varies the fit and thus ensures an optimal fit.

Vozz can do without the chinstrap, but the neck end is made tight.

The secure fit is completed when the rear part of the helmet is fixed with its two locks. The design, which is tightly closed around the neck, should reduce the level of noise and folded ears should be a thing of the past when putting on. In addition, the helmet should be easier to remove in an emergency. If the locks are damaged, accident workers can also remove two emergency pins in the helmet shell and thus separate the helmet. Inadvertently, however, the emergency system cannot be unlocked.

The front part of the helmet of the Vozz R.S 1.0 is made of composite material, the rear part of the helmet is made of ABS. In the ECE version, the Vozz helmet weighs 1,680 grams, the DOT variant is given at 1,780 grams. Three helmet shell sizes and various interior fittings are available. The visor comes with a scratch-resistant and anti-fog coating. Other variants are optionally available.

In Australia, the Vozz R.S 1.0 is available in sizes from XS to XXL at prices around 570 euros. The rest of the world can also order via the shop on the Vozz website.
