Bimota 1000 DB5 R 2006

Menus

The exclusive, do you know? And when it mixes with top of the range … No more searching, you are at Bimota. The small factory is now multiplying its versions around its DB5. After the roadster version (the DB6 Delirio), this sporty version of a different taste is available in an S version to take advantage of two of its charms and an R version presented here.

The recipe is well known but still makes us salivate. Take a sportswoman, with a possible name that bangs (randomly, a DB5 …), add top-of-the-range materials, mix everything up and serve under the most sparkling decoration possible. Thus, under its Italian dress, the DB5 R keeps its confidence in Ohlins for its suspensions. Then, if we had OZ Racing forged aluminum rims … Between the two, we will put Brembo and 320 mm brake discs (298 on the standard version) – the braking is obviously completely radial, calipers at the pump. To spice it up, let’s add carbon for the fairing, the air intakes, and all the usual plastic elements. A little touch of fun with a cut out clutch housing (housing a limited slip system) and a selection of nice little parts, sound that goes well with two Zard titanium exhausts. And vlan, here is a Bimota transformed into a little gem. The machine loses 7 kilos in the story, but does not gain horses. The air-cooled Ducati twin desmo remains, pending a possible evolution towards the 1100 which equips the Mulitstrada and the next Hypermotard.
