BMW F 800 GS 2016

Menus

When we think of trail running at BMW, the essential R 1200 GS comes naturally. There is yet another bike in the range, which also thinks of paths and mops, without the enormous side of the 1200, it is the F 800 GS. Perhaps it was a desire to get out of the shadows that led him to primp his face. Or rather the shoulders. A galvanic deposit brings a metallic shine to the radiator covers. It reminds us of the 2008 R 1200 GS.
The top of the tank is restyled while the saddle becomes two-tone. Above all, with four variants on offer and the optional lowering kit, the purchaser is presented with a choice of five seat heights. The altitude starts at 820 mm to peak at 920 mm.
The equipment may vary depending on the colors chosen. Thus, the Sport provides a pair of hand guards; the Style also adopts them with in addition a tinted screen and LED indicators.

The engine does not change nor the chassis. The parallel twin of 798 cm3 thus always delivers its 85 horsepower with enthusiasm. He can take advantage of an option: the possibility of being restricted to 48 horses, for the European license. The 800, like the 700 for that matter, has ABS as standard. Dual-channel model, it can be disconnected when driving engaged in off-road conditions.
Since the time that the German brand has been testing numerous innovations, they are no longer reserved for the high-end. This F 800 GS can be fitted (as an option) with ASC traction control and ESA controlled suspension. Here you are with two co-pilots of choice: the first regulates the traction of the rear wheel; the second is responsible for adjusting your suspensions according to the chosen mode (Comfort – Normal – Sport).
