BMW R 1200 R 2011

Menus

Quietly but devilishly efficient, the R 1200 R is still present in the BMW range, defending more classic values than the brutes of another caliber such as the K 1300 R and other lumberjacks. In turn, it benefits from the double ACT cylinder heads from the HP2 Sport. The GS and RT have already used, why not her….

The flat twin gains 500 rpm of engine speed, an ounce of power and torque, but it’s especially in terms of character that you should feel the difference. Pieces of sports in the bag, it still marks its ground. Behème takes the opportunity to review his bourgeois roadster by little touches. A new, slightly ovoid headlight gives it slightly more character while the new dashboard (central digital window surrounded by two dials) suits it better than the old instrumentation stuck to the 1200 GS. A new more arched saddle should improve passenger comfort; which will be able to hold on much better with the new and generous rear handles. A little touch of class: the Paralever single-arm, the cylinder heads, the Telelever suspension arm and the lower sleeves are painted in bronze. Also note the new, more stylish oil cooler guard and the rims borrowed from the K series. These are little things…. But it contributes to the quality impression.
There is now a second version of the R 1200 R, the Classic – Same chassis, same engine, same silhouette, but spoked rims and vintage white stripe on the front fender and tank.
