Last year, Investindustrial had mandated Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs to find investors in Hong Kong, recalls the Financial Times, believing that the most plausible scenario this year to further internationalize the brand would be to sell Ducati "to a competitor or to a big car manufacturer ".

"According to sources familiar with the matter, the Indian group Mahindra or car manufacturers such as Volkswagen and BMW could be interested", estimates the Financial Times which evaluates the debts of Ducati at "1.7 times its income before interest, devaluation and depreciation, a fairly low level compared to most private companies ".
