Recently acquired by the Italian investor group Eagle Bike (read), Moto Morini is said to be on the verge of returning to business. Its new owner, Sandro Capotosti, sent a letter to his network to inform them that the lines of the factory in Bologna (Italy) were starting to run again..
According to our colleagues from the Italian daily Il Resto del Carlino, deliveries to Moto Morini points of sale – particularly in France – would even resume "in spring 2012" !
As a reminder, Moto Morini is an Italian motorcycle brand launched in 1937 by Alfonso Morini. Bought in 1987 by Cagiva, the manufacturer spends several years in the shadows before rebounding in the early 2000s under the leadership of Franco Morini.
The nephew of the founder of the eponymous brand then tries to imitate the success of his compatriot Ducati by launching the Corsaro in 2005, a big sporty roadster powered by a 1187 cc V-Twin with a strong character (read our).
Then came the 9 ½ Corsaro, Granpasso, Scrambler and Corsaro Veloce models which share the same bubbling temperament. Weakened by the crisis, the manufacturer vacillated in 2009 (read), which led the Bologna court to place Moto Morini in receivership the following spring.
Extended by Eagle Bike, a group of investors who have, the future of Moto Morini now depends on Sandro Capotosti and Ruggeromassimo Jannuzzelli, the new owners of the transalpine coat of arms. To be continued on Site: stay connected !
