For some years now, Moto Morini seemed able to make a successful return to the motorcycle scene thanks to the launch of enticing machines powered by a voluntary twin. But sinister news from Bologna augurs the contrary: unable to pay its 65 employees and its suppliers, the manufacturer would have been forced to go into voluntary liquidation while waiting to redress the bar..
A delicate situation for this direct competitor of the famous neighbor Ducati and especially all the more frustrating as over the first eight months of 2009, sales of Corsaro 1200, 9 1/2, Corsaro Avio and other Granpassos already exceeded 15 % of the total volume sold in 2008 !
Moto Morini now has a few months to repay its creditors and try to find new investors. Or a real way of the cross in the current economic context…
