Mr. Ambassador: Max Biaggi drives for the Aprilia brand
Crowned motorcycle speed world champion five times – out of six – with Aprilia, Max Biaggi becomes the ambassador of the Italian brand. The Roman Emperor will be responsible for promoting Noale’s firm, its competitive programs and its products… without getting on it ?!
No, Max Biaggi does not plan to return to competition again! His last freelance during the event will remain the "last of the". As a reminder, the famous n ° 3 was on the podium in the first round: not bad for a Grandpa then 44 year old dad !
The second race had unfortunately come to an end for him: jostled from the first turn, he fell but it was fortunately recovered without the slightest injury. Two months later, however, a slightly more serious fall in mountain biking had him … Max had however seriously trained to participate in the final of the World Superbike in Qatar..

In June 2017, the stainless Italian rider had tested the asphalt again, victim of a violent high-side on the handlebars of his training supermotard. A few weeks later, after having painfully blown out his 46 candles, Biaggi announced that he was to hang up the leather de-fi-ni-tively. "Too old for this bullshit"…
This weekend however, on the sidelines of the 2018 Czech Republic Grand Prix on his favorite circuit of Brno, the idol – now great friend – of Jorge Lorenzo was very proud to announce his return to Aprilia, as a global ambassador. of the sports brand of the Piaggio group.
Unlike Casey Stoner who continues – will continue? – to develop MotoGP prototypes for Ducati, or Troy Bayliss who entered the Superbike championship this year at home, in Australia, Max Biaggi will ensure the promotion of Aprilia, without riding !
Although he no longer rides, not even for fun, Max’s legitimacy is absolutely indisputable … The Roman has won six world titles in motorcycle speed: four consecutive in GP250 (from 1994 to 1997!) And two in World Superbike (in 2010 and 2012).
Site readers – who, as everyone knows, are a little more cultured than others – know that the Roman Emperor rode for Suzuki and Ducati in WorldSBK, for Honda and Yamaha in GP500 and then in MotoGP. But Max has only been crowned once without Aprilia’s help: in 1997, when he was riding a Honda.
Reciprocally, the Noale firm owes a lot to its "good old" driver: in addition to his success on the RSW250, Biaggi led the RSV4 to victory in his first WSBK season in 2009 and raised it to number one in the world (driver title and builder) the following season, repeating two years later.
Since his withdrawal from competition, Max Biaggi had shown himself with other brands, mainly through his Moto3 team registered in the Italian championship (CIV) in 2017 with Mahindra, then this season in the Spanish championship (CEV) with KTM.
The one who was also nicknamed the "Corsair" could aspire to a peaceful and deserved retirement under the coconut trees. It is not so ! Not content with pursuing his career in two-wheelers with Aprilia, Max is at the same time ambassador of Venturi, the brand of electric vehicles involved in Formula E. Forza Biaggi !
Declaration
Max Biaggi, Aprilia Ambassador:
"This period is very important for Aprilia, and our stories will intersect again. As a fan, I have been able to measure the progress Aprilia has made in MotoGP. I am now proud – and confident – that I can offer my experience to to support a totally Italian brand which continues to grow, in sporting terms and through its new products which, as always, emanate this competitive character specific to Aprilia ".
