KTM steps up production with Chinese manufacturer CF Moto
The latest activity report from Pierer Mobility AG, which owns the KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas brands, predicts that CF Moto will manufacture three new 750 cc KTM motorcycles. MNC decryption.
Most of our readers already know that KTM is part of the Indian group Bajaj, which owns 48% of the brand and manufactures the Duke and RC from 125 to 390 cc in its factory in Chakan (India). But the Austrian manufacturer is also at the ankle with another Asian giant: CF Moto, one of the main players in the Chinese two-wheeler market..

The two companies have been working together since 2013: CF Moto sells KTMs rebadged "KTMR2R" on its domestic market. In 2017, their relationship intensified with the signing of a (joint venture) and technological exchange projects, mainly from Austria to China..

More "cooperation" between KTM and CF Moto
In its activity report, KTM Pierer Mobility AG also announces a "massive increase in the level of cooperation" with the Hangzou brand, which will produce three new motorcycles in its gigantic factory for the "Chinese and global domestic markets": 750 Duke, 750 Adventure and 750 Supermoto T.
These three new names mean the imminent arrival of a new 750 cc twin-cylinder at the Mattighofen brand, which confirms that this engine – no doubt of in-line architecture – will propel "an additional range for KTM".
What place would this 750 Duke occupy between the current 390, 790 and 890 Duke and Duke? The KTM offer is already quite loaded in terms of roadsters, unless you replace the 790 with a more accessible 750 version to compete more head-on with bestsellers like the Kawasaki Z900 ?!
The observation is similar for a 750 cc trail since KTM already offers its 390 Adventure and 790 Adventure. On the other hand, a 750 "T" would expand the Supermoto range of the Austrian manufacturer, which today only revolves around the single cylinder of the 690 SMC R … To be continued naturally on MNC: stay connected !
