The latest monthly bulletin from the National Delinquency Observatory, which records the complaints lodged by the French with the authorities, shows that thefts of motorized two-wheelers continue to increase, even slightly..

While auto theft has declined steadily for several years (129,325 complaints over the last 12 months compared to 134,847 between August 2007 and July 2008 and 150,626 between August 2006 and July 2007), thefts of motorized two-wheelers (motorcycles , scooters and cyclos) indeed increased by + 1.9% in July 2009 compared to July 2008 (7,811 complaints against 7,666).

Complaints for theft of motorized two-wheelers show a comparable increase over the last 12 months compared to the same period last year (+ 1.27%), when they had recorded a decrease of -7.14% last year.
