From the third day of the Rally of Morocco in October, Coma had fallen heavily and had to give up, leaving the field – almost – open to his French teammate (read). "Marc is one of our key riders and with his teammate Cyril Despres he gave KTM the last seven motorcycle victories in the Dakar", recalls the factory KTM team manager, Alex Doringer, both disappointed with this forfeit and aware that the health of his men takes precedence over anything else.
