Opening up new prospects for muscular cruising, the Ducati XDiavel is making headlines. He marks, disturbs, pleases, annoys, bewitches and jostles. The design grabs you, the engine pulls you away. The twin Testastretta is inflated to 1262 cm3 and adopts DVT variable valve timing. The result: 156 horsepower but above all a lot of torque available very early on.
It deposits in standard version, it ‘premium’ in version S. The manufacturer does not increase the level of performance but that of finish. The paint abandons the matt of the XDiavel for a black varnish. The rims differ with a more dynamic design and polished spokes. The monobloc Brembo calipers are here M50s, fixed at the end of an inverted 50 mm fork which receives a DLC anti-friction treatment. The aluminum mirrors are machined. The headlight, entirely LED, is adorned with a luminous inverted U for DRL daytime running light. Let’s not forget the guest Bluetooth in the on-board electronics.
On the engine side, polishing work is carried out on the side casings. This distribution virtualization is reminiscent of similar work on the upcoming Brough Superior SS 100 from Boxer Design.
We finish with a special saddle made of two different materials and a brushed finish on the aluminum swingarm..
No Ohlins? No, no Termignoni exhaust or carbon parts. But rest assured, the tariff extension will still hurt.
