The look of the Forma will not disorient you, so much they resemble a well-known brand. But motorcycle, they naturally offer additional protection. Finally, the sole provides additional rigidity. Then we find a double topstitching of quality, both at the level of the sole and the different inserts which gives it this very particular almost fashion look. The metal eyelets, pledges of strength, end up offering an excellent quality of finish. As on the inspiration model, there is a comfortable padded upper part all around which means that despite the initial apparent rigidity, there is no parasitic friction that could lead to blisters..
Technical
Under the appearance, we find a shoe sewn in full grain leather. The inside of the shoe has a waterproof and breathable Drytex membrane. As for the sole, it is made of Polypropylene and covered with an impact-resistant EVA material.
Threading
The shoe slips on easily, with the most traditional lacing, despite everything going quite high. The first time you put them on, the shoe is quite rigid and you tell yourself that the sensations are less and that walking with them is going to be difficult. But time will largely contribute to softening the leather.
Test
The shoe seems thick and robust and we are always afraid of having less feel from the controls on the foot. This is not the case here and this, even at the beginning when the shoe is not yet made.
The thick sole with its grippy shapes offers excellent grip that we appreciate noticeably both in the dry, but even more in the rain. We remember these plastic soles on some models that turn into soap at the slightest downpour. Nothing like it here.
With a shoe so closed, one can fear to be hot, even very hot. In fact, they are warm in summer but still breathable, proving the effectiveness of the Drytex membrane. As a result, even after long days and thousands of kilometers of use and without any particular interior maintenance, they do not start to smell foul odors as some shoes can..
A shoe like this one is not only used on a motorcycle, but becomes a walking shoe. During our roadtrip around the great American lakes, they were the only pair of shoes taken and therefore used both for riding a motorbike and sometimes walking up to twenty kilometers per day, without any worries. This has also made it possible to soften them to such an extent that they have become real slippers, especially compared to the beginning. And while they cut just right at first, they’ve gained a half-size now, requiring the lacing to be tightened a bit more..
After intensive use for several months, the model did not suffer at all, apart from the protection of the left foot which naturally blackened, even a little beyond the strict surface of the selector. The natural color being relatively dark, this is not shocking but affirms the use of the model for the motorcycle.
Even the laces have so far held up without requiring a change.
Only the upper quilted part of the shoe suffered from a particularly hot exhaust which damaged this inner right part a little..
Rain
They had the right to the road naturally but also to long episodes of storms of 500km in one day and if the rest of the body was largely soaked, they always held up excellently, provided they naturally had the rain pants. appreciably above the high stem, which is naturally done in view of the height.
