When they arrive in the city … they don’t necessarily want to arrive in boots and especially when they are exclusively in the city. Sneakers or light shoes are then the ideal choice. And for all that, you have to be protected. The equipment manufacturer Louis has solved this squaring of the circle with its Vanucci brand and its Tiffoso series, available in four VTS models. In the VTS family, I ask for the VTS2. In fact, even if the VTS exists via four models, all models share almost the same characteristics, either a sneaker, or half-boot with a 12 cm shank, with a rubber sole, ankle protectors, a polyester lining. and reflective inserts. The overall look is identical and the different models are then differentiated by the color (a little discreet pink for the girls) or a suede coating for the VTS4 compared to the smooth leather of the VTS2. We especially remember the VTS2 that it is waterproof and incorporates a breathable Drygate membrane inside, just to compensate for the waterproofing offered. The Vanucci Tiffoso VTS2 presents well, both in terms of shape and general look with these small details that make the difference such as the sole marked as with black waxing, or at the last hole for the red colored lace. The basketball is very easy to put on. It will be noted in passing that it is the right size, which means neither too small nor too large and therefore corresponds to the usual size of a city shoe. The wide laces allow it to be closed quickly and easily. Comfort is immediately put inside thanks in particular to a knurled lining, including on the front flap, thus limiting friction, even with too much tightening. The foot immediately feels good inside, with an anatomical sole, which allows you to walk with them, while forgetting them completely; which is far from the case with standard half-boots.
Flexible, the sneakers allow you to feel the selector well. In fact, we hardly make the difference with a standard sneaker when it includes protections and reinforcement especially at the level of the sole..
The only limit of the basketball happens in the event of strong heat. Despite the breathable membrane, the foot is warm inside. However, unlike some closed shoes that quickly go hand in hand with bad smells, nothing like it here..
Deprived of reinforcement at the level of the selector, one could have feared that the basketball score. In fact, it does not need any reinforcement and after hundreds of kilometers there is no selector mark on the shoe, nor any deformation or wear noticed (this test will be updated as we go along to see if that changes).
Conclusion
Supple, with a nice and urban look, the Tiffoso is appreciated on a daily basis and also avoids having a too biker look for a meeting in the city. However, she does not disdain going out and is also appreciated during long walks. The waterproof and breathable model is still paid at the price with a price placed high at 119 euros.
