Netherton Cottage in Aberlemno is for sale for £ 320,000. The stone house in which William C. Davidson was born in 1846 is a good 20 miles north of Dundee in Scotland. The Davidson family lived there until 1857 when they emigrated to the USA.

Renovated pension

Of course, a lot has happened in the house since 1857. In 2008 a local Harley fan bought it and began to clear the old walls of dust, weeds and dirt. The roof is no longer there, but the old stove and oven. The house where W.C. Davidson was born in 2012 and has been available for rent since then, which is something many Harley-Davidson fans also do and immortalize yourself there with a plaque. The house and 200 square meters of land with outbuildings and garage can be purchased for 320,000 pounds, the equivalent of 370,000 euros.

William C. Davidson

Davidson moved to the United States with his parents and siblings in 1857. In Wisconsin, the father finds a job as a carpenter for a railroad company. Living in Milwaukee, the Harley family as neighbors. Early on, William took a liking to everything mechanical and followed his father to the railroad. Williams’ sons Arthur, Walter and William A., together with William S “Bill” Harley 1901 a company that started with 1903 “The Shed” gets the first own workshop on the property of the Davidsons. The impetus for this comes from the father, William C. Davidson, the Scot who builds the hut.

Conclusion

Learned a lot. Harley-Davidson is almost as British as American, and one of the founding Davidson’s homes in Scotland is now being sold. You don’t know why, maybe Harleys will soon come from Scotland. It is questionable whether this will resolve Harley-Davidson’s tensions with EU tariffs.
