The new CBF 600 will be available in 2 versions: S to venture out on a trip, and this N version which is inserted directly between the CB 500 and the 600 Hornet. With this machine, Honda will be able to reach a very wide audience – especially since anti-pollution standards have eliminated a lot of economical machines from manufacturers’ catalogs. Thus, the CBF 600 will offer more watts than its beginner cousin, the CB 500, without the sassy and fiery side of the Hornet which can repel those who do not share this temperament..
With a nice look, the CBF takes over the engine of the Hornet but is broken down. The chassis is mono-backbone type, a similarity that we find on the Hornets 600 and 900 but also on the new CB 500 and CBF 600 S. There are also a lot of common parts between these models. – hope that this will be found at the level of the portfolio. As this is the naked version of the latter, we find the same practical aspects; namely the saddle and the adjustable handlebar supports, options at all costs including an ABS, unheard of at this level of the range. Even less well off in power, the CBF should not be sad to drive. The transmission has been shortened compared to the Hornet, the mapping is supposed to favor mid-revs … and remember that this block is that of the old 600 CBR – it has proven its worth. Here is a nice roadster, but above all a formidable competitor for the 600 Bandit.
