IDM will start in Oschersleben in three days, but Mathieu Gines will not be there due to an injury at the moment.

The Frenchman fell in the 24-hour race of the Endurance World Championship in Le Mans on Sunday and scraped his right little finger. The tendon broke. Gines was operated on on Monday and now has to keep the finger absolutely still for ten days.

For the Weber Motos Team from Switzerland, his failure is a severe blow. Gines is traded as one of the title favorites on the Kawasaki ZX-10 R. “In the run-up to the IDM, we tested for five days in Spain and France.

We have been jumping in a zigzag for the last three weeks so that everything is optimally prepared, ”says team boss Emil Weber. “But now we just had bad luck.” Despite the misfortune, the team fully supports Gines. Is there an alternative for the IDM kick-off from April 27th to 29th in the Motorsport Arena? Weber: “There are a few drivers, but we are not yet sure whether we will take this step or not.”
