The first free practice on the TT Circuit in Assen is led by the Dutchman Finn de Bruin on his Yamaha YZF-R3 with a 2: 05.300. Jaro Hoekstra follows at 0.066 seconds, followed by Kevin Mijwaart on P3. 20 Yamahas and two Kawasakis – this is the starting field in the 300cc class. Philippe Cavegn drove a 2: 19.042 on his Ninja, Avalon Biddle (Kawa) behind with a 2: 19.264.

2nd free practice (11.8., 1:25 p.m.)

After the 2nd free practice it looks like this in the IDM Supersport 300 class: Kevin Mijwaart drove a lap time of 1: 58.019, Joep Overbeeke behind with 1: 58.673 and Noah Bronkhorst is third fastest with a 1: 58.749. All three Dutch people are on Yamahas. Guest starter Avalon Biddle is the best Kawasaki driver and with a lap time of 2: 06.110 on P15 on the timesheet.

1st timed practice (11.8., 4.20 p.m.)

Joep Overbeeke won the first qualifying with a 1: 56.848, Kevin Mijwaart finished second with 1: 56.873 and Finn de Bruin finished third with 1: 57.041. You can find the complete results from qualifying in the link above “Training and racing results of the IDM Supersport 300 in Assen”

2nd timed practice (12.8., 11.55 a.m.)

Since the 2nd qualifying of the IDM Supersport 300 took place on Saturday in Assen under regenerative conditions, none of the drivers could improve their best time on Friday. You can find the starting grid in the PDF link above “Training and racing results of the IDM Supersport 300 in Assen”.

1st race (August 12, 4:55 p.m., 12 laps)

It is different from what it looks like. Although the Dutch win in the small IDM class, on closer inspection they are no better than the Germans, in whose ranking Jan-Ole Jahnig won the first run in Assen.

Jan-Ole Jahnig and his Freudenberg team-mate Maximilian Kappler did not get off to the best possible start on their Yamaha R3s, but afterwards they stayed in the top 10 permanently. At the top the concentrated elite of the Dutch championship had gathered, which is in the same field as the IDM, but with separate valuation. Why can’t a German break into your phalanx? That is due to the regulations. Your motorcycles have a different ECU and a little more power. There is no herb against it. As expected, Jahnig and Kappler put themselves in the limelight in between, whereby Jahnig had developed a large lead in the internal competition. As the winner of the IDM classification, he was rewarded with 25 points, while Kappler received 20 points in second place. In the overall standings, the two now only separate three points. If he wins the second race as well, Jahnig would be the new IDM leader tomorrow. Third was Troy Beinlich, who pushed Sophia Liebschner out of third place overall.

The current development shows that the small class is definitely interesting and has a future: In the coming year there will be another manufacturer in the class. KTM has shown great interest and wants to get on board. (Anke Wieczorek)

2nd race (13.8., 2.00 p.m., 12 laps)

It is finished. Jan-Ole Jahnig has taken the overall lead in the smallest IDM class. He replaced his Freudenberg team-mate Maximilian Kappler at the top. Was that a preliminary decision in the championship? There are only two events left. So Kappler doesn’t have much time to turn the tables again. The Saxon has to nibble on his zero. He crashed with the Dutchman Dennis Koopman. While the local could continue his ride on the Yamaha R3, there was no finish for Kappler. Jahnig was not the winner from a German point of view, but Troy Beinlich got the full number of points and is catching up more and more.

There was also drama at the top, with everything revolving around the Dutch, who competed with the Germans in the same field, but with separate ratings. The Polish guest Daniel Blin fell while in the lead. That made for plenty of exercise. In the end, however, the field was pulled apart. (Anke Wieczorek)
