1st free practice (29.9., 10.15 a.m.)

The three fastest lap times in the first free practice session of the 600 class were all achieved by German drivers: The fastest driver on Friday morning was Kevin Wahr, who chased his R6 around the ring in 1: 30.106 and was a good second faster than Marc Buchner with 1: 31,138 in second place, also on a Yamaha. Third fastest driver in FP 1 was Christian Stange on a Kawasaki ZX-6R (1: 31.303).

The overall ranking leader Thomas Gradinger (Yamaha) from Austria came in 4th with 1: 31.405.

2nd free practice (29.9., 1:50 p.m.)

Yamaha driver Kevin Wahr was able to secure the best time in the second free practice at the Hockenheimring, but with 1: 30.161 he was a few tenths behind his FP1 time. Overall leader Thomas Gradinger rose by more than a second and is in second place with 1: 30.204. At the end of the free practice sessions, Max Enderlein follows in third place with 1: 30.939, Christian Stange was best Kawasaki driver with 1: 31.303 in fifth.

1st timed practice (29.9., 5:05 p.m.)

4th place in FP 1, 2nd place in FP 2 and now confidently first in qualifying: The Austrian Thomas Gradinger set the fastest time of 1: 29.638 with his Yamaha YZF-R6, relegating the German racing driver Kevin Wahr (also Yamaha, 1: 29.882) and Manou Antweiler (Kawasaki ZX-6R, 1: 30.577) on the places.

4th and 5th place also went to German racing participants: Max Enderlein on a Yamaha was only 22 hundredths slower than Antweiler with his lap time of 1: 30.599, Marc Buchner followed him even closer with a time of 1: 30.604.

The result of the first qualifying is as follows:

In Q2, the German pilot Wahr was a good six hundredths faster than his Austrian competitor Gradinger (1: 30.122) with 1: 30.058, but the fastest lap from Q1 + Q2 counts for the starting grid in the race – and thanks to his time, Gradinger is 1: 29.639 starting from pole position in Q1.

In the second qualifying, the Yamaha drivers Max Enderlein (1: 30.215), Vasko van der Valk (1: 30.462) and Daniel Rubin (1: 30.629) followed in positions 3 to 5. The fastest Kawasaki rider was guest starter Martin Vugrinec with 1: 32.991.

1st race (30.9., 3 p.m.)

Kevin Wahr wins the penultimate race of the season at the 2017 IDM finale in Hockenheim. Behind him, Max Enderlein and Marc Buchner, who also start on a Yamaha, placed on the podium.

The race was divided into two parts after the race was stopped due to the onset of rain. Thomas Gradinger, the new master in the class, went down in the third round. The race was canceled on the fourth lap. Lucky for gradingers. So he was allowed to take part in the second part. Here Max Enderlein was ahead of the pack at the start, but Kevin Wahr crossed the finish line for the first time in first position. Gradinger was in third place at this point. In the fifth of ten laps, however, the Austrian had to pull into the pit with a technical problem, which ended the race prematurely for him. In a varied change at the top, Kevin Wahr was able to take the lead on the penultimate lap. He won the race just 0.526 seconds behind Max Enderlein and Marc Buchner, also on a Yamaha. Buchner had a gap of 5.139 seconds.

True secured the runner-up title with the victory. Max Enderlein is no longer able to move up to second overall in the last race on Sunday.

2nd race (1.10., 2.55 p.m.)

Although the Austrian Thomas Gradinger won the championship title, he had no chance against Kevin Wahr at the finals of the Supersport 600 class of the IDM in Hockenheim. The Nagold True won another triumph on his home track on Saturday. Gradinger crossed the finish line in second place and Max Enderlein took third place.

The whole race was an exciting fight between Gradinger, Wahr and Enderlein. First Gradinger was in third place, then he followed Kevin Wahr within a few thousandths of a second until he passed him on the fifth lap. Once at the top, he once again showed his class and set himself apart from True. From the middle of the race he was able to set himself apart from his pursuer Max Enderlein. However, True started his final sprint six laps before the end of the race. One lap later he regained the top position and did not give it up until the finish line.

Marc Buchner, who started the race from last place on the grid due to a penalty from the first race on Saturday, drove across the field and ended up in seventh place. He is third overall in 2017 behind Master Gradinger and Vice True.
