Ilmberger Carbon is launching a carbon fiber body kit for the current BMW S 1000 XR. Almost everything is available, from small covers to 26 liter tanks.

Let’s start with the largest part: The carbon tank at Ilmberger costs 3,799 euros. Oops! Although it comes with the two separately available side panels for 389.90 euros each, it still leaves a good 3,000 euros for the tank. In return, it saves four kilos in weight. Still not enough? OK. Also increased Ilmberger with the tank, the fuel supply of the BMW to a full 26 liters. With a factory specification of 6.2 liters per 100 km: 420 kilometers range – theoretically. At the other end of the price list is an ignition lock cover for 149.90 euros. Although this does not provide more range, it can be the beginning of a long relationship with the coal dealer Ilmberger and his own XR.

Overall, Ilmberger Carbon offers BMW S 1000 XR from year of construction 2020 44 parts for 28 vehicle areas between 149.90 and 3799.99 euros. Almost every piece of plastic can be exchanged for one made of fine carbon at Ilmberger. Smart here is the rear conversion with the short license plate holder for 359.90 euros, with which the original lighting can still be used. It is also interesting that Ilmberger offers some parts such as the engine cover or the rear cover twice: for use with a main stand or case holder. The radiator trim is also available either in a full version or as a supplement to the original paintwork. Clever.

Not just chic

If the worst comes to the worst, some of the carbon parts from Ilmberger also protect against unsightly scratches on expensive metal. In addition to covers for the exposed covers of the clutch and alternator, the large swingarm or frame covers made of carbon can prevent work on the aluminum in the event of a fall.

Conclusion

Simply adding up the entire Ilmberger Carbon shopping cart for the current BMW S 1000 XR could cause gasping. But every now and then bought as individual parts and the XR spiced up makes perfect sense. The tank kit, which has a good six liters more capacity and is less weight, is clean. That can mean up to 100 kilometers more range.
