Kawasaki Z 125 and Ninja 125 (2019) in the driving report
First exit with the new 125s
Kawasaki used INTERMOT 2018 in Cologne to present two new 125cc models. In addition to the Naked Bike Kawasaki Z 125, the youngsters can also look forward to the disguised Kawasaki Ninja 125. We have already been able to try out the two newcomers.

Since the presentation of the Ninja 125 and Z 125 at Intermot, the young fans of the Greens from Japan have been waiting longingly for the delivery to the dealers. It should be ready at the beginning of December. Kawasaki Europe has already made the two eight-liter milling machines available to press representatives for test drives.
Fight for the offspring
In the now highly competitive 125cc class, Kawasaki is sending two nimble bikes into the race that are visually based on their great role models. The next generation of motorcyclists should be convinced above all with cool styling. For this purpose, the permitted 15 HP should be fully used and the single-cylinder engine should press 12 Newton meters on the roller. Clean throttle response and linear power delivery are positive. Instead of an upside-down fork and thick rear tire, Kawa equips its entry-level models with a cheaper, neatly dimensioned 37 millimeter telescopic fork and a handy 130 cm Dunlop TT 900 slipper, which is never overwhelmed with the 15 hp. The painted tubular space frame is reminiscent of the Ninja H2.

ABS from Bosch is on board with both Kawas.
Technically, the differences between the Ninja 125 and Z 125 are minimal and are essentially limited to the seat height and position. The relationship is also clearly visible visually. For both models, Kawasaki gives an official top speed of 113 km / h, the speedometer then says 118. At the front, a two-piston floating caliper bites into a 263 millimeter disc, and at the rear into a 193 millimeter disc that cuts a fine figure on the first test drive and intervenes late. The chassis has only minor weaknesses and is overall ahead in the eight-liter class.
Fully comprehensive insurance included
The European Kawasaki representatives are now under pressure to act. Ninja and Z should take on the competition from scratch and find over 3800 new owners in the coming year. At 4,595 euros (Z 125) and 4,895 euros (Ninja 125), the newcomers to the class are not bargains at first. For this, Kawa also has fully comprehensive insurance (term: one year) in the first year of sale – the price thus includes an all-round carefree package.
Kawasaki
A matter of taste: both new 125ccs from Kawasaki should find their fans among beginners.
The Kawasaki Z 125 will be available in three different colors: “Metallic Flat Spark Black / Pearl Flat Stardust White”, “Candy Lime Green / Metallic Flat Spark Black” and “Candy Plasma Blue / Metallic Spark Black”. The situation is similar with the Kawasaki Ninja 125, which is also available in three paint finishes: “Lime Green / Ebony / Metallic Graphite Gray”, “Metallic Flat Spark Black / Metallic Matte Fusion Silver” and “Candy Plasma Blue / Metallic Flat Spark Black “.
