2010 – even year, year of evolution of the 1000 hypersports for certain manufacturers, including Kawasaki. The ZX-10 R is no exception, but as times are hard, we will not be entitled to a spectacular evolution of the meanest sports car on the market.. Some wanted more horses as is customary for new collections?!? … Come on, come on, the Ninja already has more than reason. Do you know a lot of machines that spit 200 nags (with forced air intake) into the boiler? I know 3 of them: the Desmosedici RR, the F4 1080 CC, and the ZX-10 R. And how many pilots are able to control and transform such colossal power? No, believe me, there are enough nuts in the Japanese 4-cylinder. The trick is to use it. The 2010 version is fine-tuned for this and modifies its selection mechanism for smoother and more precise gear changes. The 10 R’s lively and stiff chassis gets the brace of a new Ohlins steering damper.
It is on the style side that most of the changes can be seen. It is still necessary to strain the eye and approach it closely. The silencer is revised with a new design, its surface treatment is grainy, and the end cap is simpler in design. You will see that in a few years, everyone will return to the classic side pot that accompanied all motorcycles in the past – Kawa would be the first to feel the wind turn ?
Other changes, the inside of the fork crown is refined around the handlebars. The facies is clearly identified with that of the ZX-6R, which itself was radically inspired by that of the previous 10 R, Ah, the family! The fairing sidewalls are also cut a little, sweating slightly more finesse. Too bad the stylists did not take the opportunity to remove these awful turn signals that plague the stems of the mirrors.
The pace to which the Japanese had accustomed us with regard to the renewal of sports leaves us a little over our hunger to discover this new ZX-10 R … But it is the same for all sports news (vilo modified for the CBR 1000, engine management for the R6, etc …). A little calm in this frantic race would not be a bad idea, for everyone to fully appreciate their mount without it going out of fashion too quickly (it’s a personal opinion). The fact remains that despite this limited development, the ZX-10 R remains one of the most charismatic machines on the plateau … and as its inflation remains moderate, its price remains lower compared to the stars that are the R1 and RSV4 R. reflect !
