When the company was founded in 1909, no one suspected that in the 1950s it would be one of the most famous German motorcycle brands. The two-stroke specialists made the two-wheel-loving population mobile in the post-war period. From 1950 to 1982 the Kornwestheimer (Stuttgart region) produced mopeds, mopeds, mokicks and light motorcycles, which among other things had names like Florett, Mustang, Flory or Flott.

Motorcycle history on 224 pages

With their mostly 50, later also 80 cubic centimeters cubic capacity, they were numerically well represented in the German schoolyards. In the book “Kreidler – Motorcycles That Made History”, the author Frank Ronicke gives a detailed and knowledgeable look at all Kreidler mopeds. In addition to the handsome advertising posters from that time, technical drawings are also shown and explained.

Technical data are also clearly presented in tabular form. Ronicke paints a comprehensive picture of the former German king of the 50-cubic mopeds class. It goes into the history of the manufacturer, at the end of 1982 the filing of bankruptcy. Kreidler has existed again since 1996, at least as a brand name under which Prophete GmbH now sells scooters and 125 cc from the Far East. These are also taken into account on the last of the 224 pages. More information is available at www.motorbuch.de.
