2012 KTM 450 SX-F

Menus

When you want pure power, nothing can replace displacement. It remains to transmit this power to the ground. The 450 SX-F’s premium chassis allows experienced riders, even on the toughest motocross tracks, to transform the brute force of the new four-stroke DOHC into manageable traction. With its even more robust clutch, the 450 SX-F remains a real ace in the MX1 class.

Motor

Ultra-powerful and ultramodern, the four-stroke single-cylinder of the 450 SX-F stands out, thanks to its two overhead camshafts and four rocker-actuated valves, its very wide useful rev range and its enormous torque, all coupled unbeatable performance.

Exhaust manifold with HPRS

Super light, the titanium manifold of the 450 SX-F, associated with the innovative HPRS (Header Pipe Resonator System) and the voluminous silencer, manages to combine generous power and reduced noise level.

Framework

The modern frame of the 450 SX-F, made of high-quality chrome-molybdenum steel, is not only extremely light and torsion-resistant. It is also distinguished by its particularly balanced geometry which combines great maneuverability and formidable precision..

48mm telescopic fork

The inverted telescopic fork has been further improved, featuring closed cartridge technology and a little tighter adjustment for even less bottoming out. The WP fork with its 48 mm (1.89 in) tubes contributes a lot to the extraordinary handling of the 450 SX-F.

Disc spring for the clutch

The new clutch of the 450 EXC, with its robust steel bell and its anti-jerk device to protect the gearbox, for the first time uses a disc spring instead of the usual coil springs, which considerably reduces the load. activation effort. Hydraulic control allows sensitive modulation of the clutch.

Electric starter

It has been years since KTM has proven that an electric starter is of great benefit, even in motocross. This is why a button also allows you to start the 450 EXC-F.
