The Taiwanese two-wheeler manufacturer Kymco is adding the X-Town CT 300i ABS and X-Town CT 125i CBS models to the X-Town CT scooter family.

The two scooter models are not just being added to the range, they are also coming up with a new design. The sporty silhouette relies on a deep step-through with a flat floor. The reduced lines and the up-and-coming LED headlights with bright daytime running lights underline their sporty lines.

New frame, new cladding

The new plastic cover slips over a new tubular steel frame. Two spring struts with adjustable spring preload are responsible for the suspension comfort at the rear and the hydraulic telescopic fork at the front. The 13-inch alloy wheels have been redesigned with 120/70 and 150/70 tires. The high windshield of the X-Town CT models protects the driver and passenger from the elements. The inner lining of the windshield has two glove compartments. One of these houses a USB charging port for electronic devices. The storage compartment under the seat can hold two helmets or a small amount of shopping, the electronic multifunction display offers numerous information from the outside temperature to the battery voltage.

In terms of engine technology, the new models are based on the well-known Kymco X-Town technology, however, newly adapted to the Euro 5 requirements. The new X-Town CT 300i ABS is powered by a liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine with a displacement of 276 cm³, electronic injection, 22.9 hp and 24 Nm torque. The power transmission to the rear wheel is continuously variable as usual. It decelerates with wave brake discs in combination with ABS and two-piston brake calipers.

The new X-Town CT 125i CBS also relies on a four-stroke engine that delivers 12.9 hp. The 125cc brake system has to do without real ABS. Here Kymco relies on a CBS system.

Prices from around 4,100 euros

Kymco offers the new X-Town CT models in the colors “Glossy Iron Gray” and “Deep blue metallic” on. The X-Town CT 125i CBS costs 4,099 euros plus transfer costs. The X-Town CT 300i ABS is available from 4,399 euros plus transfer costs.

The X-Town model family is rounded off by the X-Town 125i ABS with tunnel construction, which has also been brought up to Euro 5 level. The X-Town 125i ABS is available for 4,099 euros plus transportation costs.
