The universal rearview mirror with integrated daytime running lights was developed by Louis together with the accessories provider Gazzini. Accordingly, sales are also carried out exclusively through the chain stores.

Universal mirrors cost around 100 euros

A light ring with LED technology integrated into the mirror body ensures very bright light and a correspondingly high level of attention from oncoming traffic. The challenge during the development was to accommodate all the necessary technology in a mirror housing with a diameter of 100 mm, to meet all legal requirements with regard to luminous area and luminosity and to make the result attractive. The mirrors milled from aluminum come with adapters for M10x1.25 right-hand thread, M10x1.25 left-hand thread and M10x1.5 right-hand thread. The mirror glass is slightly gray-tinted for optimal glare protection. A stainless steel ball joint is integrated in the mirror arm.

The daytime running light rearview mirror is homologated according to EU rules, has an E-mark and can be attached to all motorcycles / scooters that also have an EC type approval. The new daytime running light rearview mirror is available now at a price of around 100 euros.

Observe daytime running light regulations

Daytime running lights must be switched on automatically when the ignition is switched on. On the other hand, they must go out automatically when the low beam is switched on so that other road users are not dazzled. This does not apply when the headlight flasher is activated. The mirror housing can be adjusted as usual using the ball joint. However, it is not possible to turn the mirror to the left or to the right, as cables run in the inner and these can be damaged. If the motorcycle already has original daytime running lights, these must be removed as a maximum of two daytime running lights symmetrical to the vehicle’s median longitudinal plane are permitted.
