In October 2007, the motorcycle market had recorded a nice increase of 9.6%, attributable in part to the Mondial du deux-Roues. In 2008, the 10th month of the year was less brilliant with a drop in sales of 5.1%. And even the 125 go down !

Last year in October, the Mondial du deux-Roues de Paris had undoubtedly pushed a few additional customers into the dealerships and was no stranger to the 9.8% increase in registrations of motorized two-wheelers. more than 50 cc (compared to October 2006, read).

However, we remember that in 2006, the month of October hit the headlines with very impressive scores, both in 125 cc and in large engines (respectively + 33.4% and + 22.2%, read), thus preventing to validate the thesis of the "Global effect", since that year, the Porte de Versailles had been invaded by cars !

Last month therefore, the French motorcycle market suffered a 5.1% drop in sales compared to October 2007, which however had one less "dealership opening day" than in October 2008. The weather forecast, in the opinion of specialists, was relatively close to that observed last year and cannot explain this slight decline…

Over the ten months of 2008, the market recorded a slight increase of 3.8%, with 217,306 registrations against 209,310 last year. Slowly but surely, the growth of the motorcycle market tends to decrease. October only confirms it…
