Midland promises a range of over 1.6 kilometers with its new BTX 2 Pro S LR Bluetooth system. “LR” stands for long range and identifies the models that come with a new powerful antenna.

In addition to this new antenna, the new Midland system is the first mid-range system to have a 4.2 dual chipset, which allows four-way communication and, in addition to voice transmission, also enables music, GPS announcements and incoming calls without interrupting a previous connection. Up to eight participants with the LR system can connect to each other via Bluetooth and communicate with each other over a distance of up to 1.6 kilometers.

The BTX2 Pro S LR can not only connect to passengers, but also to common Bluetooth-enabled navigation systems and motorcycle cockpits. The navigation announcement can be heard or the music player can be controlled on the smartphone via the motorcycle. The system is supplemented with noise suppression and automatic volume adjustment in the event of strong background noise.

Midland supplies a number of accessories. Two microphones are also included in the package, as are the loudspeakers to be glued in, the holder for the helmet collar, and a USB charger and wall bracket.
Even without an app or mobile phone
The new Midland BTX2 Pro S LR can also be used without a smartphone or app as a pure intercom, media-free bike-2-bike communication or as a radio receiver with RDS. But if you can’t do without the coupling via smartphone, the LR from Midland even allows the coupling of up to two devices on one BTX module. The BT Pro SetApp app is available for Android or iOS systems.

Midland supplies the new BTX2 Pro S LR with a gooseneck or normal microphone, the hi-fi speakers to be glued into the helmet shell, the slide-in clamp for the module on the helmet collar, a USB charging cable and a wall charger. Certified according to IPX62, the BTX is waterproof and can be combined with other systems using universal intercom connections. Midland states the price for a module is 239 euros, the pair costs 439 euros.
