Moto-Guzzi 1100 CALIFORNIA 1994

Menus

Affectionately nicknamed “Calif”, the California is a must-have piece of Moto-Guzzi history. The equivalent of the Electra Glide with that typical Italian charm. Designed to cruise to the rhythm of the muffled beating of its 2 huge bowls, the bike is desired according to its own rules. First of all, there is this engine: a V2 overflowing on both sides, very much alive and needy. The strain of his bowels betrays his age, but his behavior leaves no one indifferent. This first generation of 1100 will coexist an admission by carbs or by injection from 1994 to 1997. The ride is an art that the big strokes of the pistons sprinkle with joviality. The comfort responds and the bike brakes well. The workmanship is good, although monitoring of certain elements is not superfluous. The only big complaint sanctions the desperately slow gearbox. The Calif can drive fast but it doesn’t like it. Her thing is to take you to the end of the world at a leisurely speed that will make you vibrate as much as she does. Curious, go your way – the California, like many Guzzi, is more for connoisseurs and enthusiasts. Its spellbinding engine quickly turns you into one of them.
