Moto2 World Championship 2019
Dominique Aegerter at Forward on MV
Future secured! The Swiss Dominique Aegerter will also compete in the Moto2 World Championship in 2019. He came to an agreement with the Forward Racing Team, who will provide the MV Agusta works team next year.

In 2019 the cards in the middle class of motorcycle grand prix sport will be completely reshuffled: after nine seasons with standard engines based on the Honda CBR600, a new sound comes to the paddock. The Moto2 machines are equipped with 765 cubic centimeters Triumph three-cylinder engines. Also there: Dominique Aegerter.
The Swiss were able to secure their future early on. Last year it had become a gauntlet run for him to get the season financially braced for the battered Kiefer team and KTM. Aegerter, who celebrated his first successes in the IDM with the Freudenberg team, resorted to a crowdfunding project. Only shortly before the start of the season did you have everything together.
Now Aegerter can go into winter relaxed: He will drive in the Forward Racing Team. Chassis from MV Agusta, which will be involved in Moto2 for the first time, will be used there. So much to learn and lots of new things for Aegerter, but the certainty that things will continue for him in 2019 should make the preparation a lot easier.
“I am proud to be part of this completely new project, with the return of such a successful brand as MV Agusta to Grand Prix racing,” said Aegerter, who has Mattia Pasini and Stefano Manzi as teammates. “The first test will take place in Jerez in a week and I am more than motivated to start.”
Aegerter should be more than excited about the new beginning. “2018 was a really difficult season for me, and I couldn’t deliver the results that I actually wanted. The last few weeks have therefore been incredibly nerve-wracking, because I really wanted to continue to drive Moto2. “Aegerter not only had to look after his performance on the track, but also the search for a team:” I don’t have a manager and I’m glad that I my brother helped Kevin so much – without him I wouldn’t have been able to do it all. My starting place is now secured, now the search for a manager continues, who will and can support us in the search for the budget for the second half of the season. “
