Suzuki virus 1000

Naked bike based on GSX-R 1000 R

Together with the dealer Moto Virus from Friborg, Suzuki Switzerland has designed a naked bike based on the Suzuki GSX-R 1000 R. The 202 hp bike celebrates its premiere at the Swiss Moto in Zurich.

NOTNot that the Suzuki model range would have lacked a strong, undisguised 1,000 model, as the GSX-S 1000 and the brand new Katana are in the range. Nevertheless, Suzuki Switzerland, together with the committed dealer Moto Virus from Friborg, put the Virus 1000 on its own – a naked woman with immense power.

Naked bike with 202 hp

In 2011, Moto Virus boss Dominique Grangier and Suzuki Switzerland launched a Virus 1000 based on GSX-R. The new edition is coming for the 2019 season. The GSX-R 1000 in the R version serves as the basis for the conversion. It already brings numerous noble components such as the Showa BFT fork, a blipper and a steering damper as well as 202 hp and 118 Nm torque.

The conversion is available with a guarantee for around 22,000 francs.

Grangier replaced the full fairing with a small lamp mask with a stub disk. There are also two new side radiator panels, a front spoiler and a small radiator grille. A Motacc superbike handlebar, which is mounted on a new upper triple clamp from the same manufacturer, ensures a more upright sitting position. Small LED indicators complete the transformation. As with the GSX-R, the Akrapovic exhaust shown is only available at an additional cost.

The Suzuki Virus 1000 will celebrate its premiere at the Swiss Moto in Zurich at the end of February. It can then be ordered in Switzerland from March 15, 2019. The price is 21,995 francs. The conversion comes with the full manufacturer’s guarantee and buyers are also given all dismantled original attachments.
