The Motoloader is an electrically operated charging system for motorcycles. Loading and unloading heavy bikes alone and safely should be very easy.

Anyone who has ever pushed a motorcycle over a plank or rail into the car, onto the trailer or into the transporter knows that it can be a shaky and sweaty affair. A Berlin engineer has come up with a solution for this, with which everyone should be able to load their motorcycle comfortably and safely – even alone. The Motoloader system is available from 1,980 euros.

Bike is stable in the roller sled

The main component of the Motoloader is the transport rail, which is mounted on two adjustable consoles in the vehicle. The loading rail in turn functions as a ramp and is plugged into the transport rail for loading and unloading. In order to load the motorcycle, the roller sled equipped with rubber wheels is fixed on the floor in front of the ramp. The front tire of the motorcycle is pushed into the roller slide, the rocker of which fixes the wheel and thus the entire motorcycle, whereby the adjustable bracket on the slide also fix the rocker.

Now the 12-volt electric winch is used: the motorcycle is pulled into the transport area at the push of a button on the remote control. The roller slide stops automatically in the end position. The cable winch is located under the loading rail to save space, which means that, according to the manufacturer, the system should also find space in panel vans with an external length of five meters. Connection cables for the vehicle battery and four ratchet straps (each four meters long) are included in the scope of delivery. Because for the transport itself, the motorcycle is conventionally secured with straps.

Loading system can be loaded up to 280 kg

Screws and fastening material are also included in the package. The Motoloader can be firmly attached to the vehicle floor or quickly and easily removed again using fastening points. The maximum load capacity is 280 kilograms (140 kilograms per wheel).

For the transport itself, the motorcycle is fixed with tension belts. For this purpose, four ratchet tensioning straps of four meters are included in the scope of delivery. Clever: The transport rail is inclined, which should make unloading with the cable winch easy.

Smart: Since the transport rail is attached to two (adjustable) brackets at the front, it is inclined. Thanks to the gradient, the loaded motorcycles can also be unloaded alone at the push of a button. If the rail were horizontal on the load compartment floor, the driver would have to be careful when parking the van that the front wheels of the vehicle are not lower than the rear axle.

Depending on the size of the transport vehicle and the bikes, two motorbikes can also be loaded and transported. A motoloader system (rails, roller sled and electric winch) weighs around 61.5 kilos.

According to the manufacturer, the charging system for motorcycles can be installed in any common box van, transporter or minibus with a maximum permissible total weight of 3.5 t and the corresponding dimensions: A vehicle with standing height naturally makes handling easier and also enables motorcycles with higher attachments to be loaded. Trailers or motorhomes with rear doors can also be used to accommodate the Motoloader.

Conclusion

If you don’t regularly load motorcycles and can do without the thrill, the Motoloader system is worth considering.
