Dourdou rally: the Toniutti roundup !
One level of the Eiffel Tower above the other competitors, Julien Toniutti left them nothing but crumbs and won the race by largely winning all the stages. Meanwhile, Bruno Schiltz takes the lead over Velardi for the championship… Story.
Rallye du Dourdou page 5: Podium and scoring of points
The Elite SW Motech scratch podium was completed by Bruno Schiltz (KTM 1290 Superduke R CTM83) second and Christophe Velardi (Ducati 1200 Multistrada Ducati West Europe) third, both respectively 34.51 and 45.84 seconds behind Julien Toniutti overall. the times.
By deducting the four worst stages to anticipate the final classification of the championship, we find Bruno Schiltz in the lead with 265 points and Christophe Velardi in second position with 264 points … Did you say tight? Julien Toniutti would take third, passing in front of Laurent Filleton (KTM 1290 Superduke n ° 4) … but there is still one event to run: things will heat up in Ardèche at the beginning of September !
In terms of categories, the prize for Rallye 2 Tecnoglobe on this Dourdou rally goes to Tanguy Brebion (Husqvarna 701 SM) who managed his race well after a small mistake at the start of the race. Maxime Mettra (KTM 690 Duke CTM83), victim of a lighting failure during the night stage, pocketed fewer points than expected but largely kept the lead of the category in the provisional (his four worst results deducted).
In Rally 3, Romain Cauquil (KTM 390 Duke Suttel Motorsport KTM 34) was able to take advantage of the fault of his direct competitor Nicolas Derrien (Suzuki 400 DRZ), who fell in the first special, to get on the first step of the Rallye 3 du Dourdou, while consolidating his lead in the championship. After this result at Dourdou, Romain already has the Rallye 3 title in his pocket !
No noticeable change on the side-cars side: the Alain Amblard / Alexandra Garcia team wins the category on this Dourdou rally at the controls of their Suzuki 1300 Hayabusa team and dominates the debate in the provisional championship classification.
Among the "old" (machines from before 1978), it is Salah Jouan who wins this Dourdou riding his Honda 900 Bol d’Or, but Christian Lacoste is still leading the provisional at the controls of a BSA 500, model year 12 BC (Jesus Christ)…
Regarding the Classics (machines from 1979 to 1990), Nick Ayrton (Suzuki 1100 Gex) has such a lead in points that he also pockets the 2017 championship title..
Everything remains to be done, however, especially for the Elite SW Motech title, which makes the 2017 French Rally Championship all the more exciting! We will therefore have to wait for his eighth round, the final which will take place in Mauves (07) on September 9 and 10 with the first Rallye des Côteaux, to know the name of the 2017 French champion..
Of course, as always, MNC will be there to bring you the events: stay tuned !
