2016/2017 FIM EWC World Endurance Championship: 2nd season for the Dunlop Independent Trophy
The Dunlop Independent Trophy, won this year by Starteam Pam-Racing, begins its second season this weekend at the Bol d’Or, the opening round of the new format world endurance championship over two calendar years.
Reserved for private teams competing in full on Dunlop without the support of a manufacturer (in EWC, Superstock or Supertwin categories), the 2016/2017 has a total of € 145,000 in premiums on. "At the same time, an endowment of € 185,000 will be allocated to the fifteen private teams under contract who enter into the entire season," said the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM).
€ 330,000 in bonuses for independent teams
At the Bol d’Or, which opens this weekend at Le Castellet (83) la, € 30,000 in premiums will be awarded to the 15 best private teams selected in the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy: € 5,000 for the winner, € 4,200 for the second, € 3,700 for the third, etc. up to € 700 from the 11th to the 15th on arrival. "In 2016, the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy, season 1, made it possible to support 23 private teams which were awarded prizes in the various races", recalls the FIM.
In addition to this EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy, Eurosport Events, will support 15 private teams who commit to running for the entire 2016-2017 season: "a global endowment of € 150,000 divided between fixed bonuses and bonuses on results will be awarded, as well as logistical support of € 35,000 to those of them wishing to participate in the EWC final in Suzuka "(Japan).
