If the target of 12,000 sales was not – at all – achieved, 2015 remained very profitable for MV Agusta: according to its accountants, the brand generated a turnover 30% higher than that of 2014. Its managing director takes stock.

At the end of 2014, MV Agusta had an ambitious goal: to sell 12,000 motorcycles in 2015 (read). Missed! If we are to believe the annual report of the Italian brand, a little less than 9000 machines with 3 and 4 "pistoni" have passed this year in the world. Despite this failure, the leaders are particularly satisfied…

"2015 was a very important year for MV Agusta", underlines its managing director, the young, handsome and tall Giovanni Castiglioni."We launched the first MV Agusta Touring motorcycle, the Turismo Veloce (read our, Editor’s note) and this model was an important factor in the further increase in sales, in the growth of margins and revenues", specifies the big boss whose company saw its revenues increase by + 30% in 2015 and its margin (on variable cost) climb by + 40%.

According to the Italians, this substantial jump would be mainly due to this MV Agusta "of road" and to the Dragster RR (read our. High-end models whose prices – very – high did not prevent them from becoming "the best sales after the Brutale 800"(read our) !

In terms of sales, MV Agusta gasped particularly well in Great Britain (+ 140%!), Spain (+ 54%), Germany (+ 26%), France (+ 20%), Switzerland (+ 14%) and in the Far East (+ 12%). At home, however, the Italian brand has stagnated (-0.1%) and no mention is made – negative? – American, oceanic or Middle Eastern markets…
