Triumph 2005: amphetamine cure for English women

New - Triumph 2005: amphetamine treatment for English women - Used TRIUMPH

After the Rocket III presented in Paris last year, the anabolic cure was confirmed in 2005 among the English: Daytona 650, Speed Triple 1050 and Sprint ST 1050.

After the Rocket III presented at the Paris Motor Show last year (read), the tendency to be overweight was confirmed in 2005 among English women.

With the new Daytona which goes up to 650 cc and the Speed Triple and Sprint ST which now display 1050 cc, Triumph has subjected its models to an anabolic cure..

Daytona 650 cc: the road Supersport

Cause or consequence? Still, the "small" Daytona 2005 version, with its 646 cc instead of 599 on the old one (read), far exceeds the maximum bar of 600 cc set in Supersport championships … It does not remain so minus one "real Supersport machine", hastens to specify the British manufacturer,"even if it is also well suited to the road". A Supersport machine reserved for the road therefore, unless Triumph plans to launch a Daytona Cup soon. !

The Daytona 650 will not be imported into France immediately, but it will be available "on demand"during 2005, when the current 600 will have been sold.

Either way, the Daytona’s liquid-cooled 16-valve DOHC inline four-cylinder was "completely redesigned"to gain 2 horsepower (114 hp at 12,500 rpm against 112 hp at 12,750 rpm last year) but retains the same maximum torque (68 Nm at 11,500 rpm instead of 11,000 rpm mn).

The Sprint ST under the sign of 3

The "VFR-isation" of the Sprint ST continues from year to year, but in an attempt to distinguish itself in the sport-GT segment, Triumph has chosen to decline its main singularity as much as possible: the three-cylinder. Available in blue or silver gray and completely redesigned for 2005, the new Sprint ST now features three small lights at the front that echo the three tailpipes under the seat..

The new Triumph rolling machine, with more angular lines inspired by the Dayto, gains 15 horsepower compared to its little sister of 955 cc (125 hp at 9250 rpm) and delivers its maximum torque at lower revs (104 Nm at 5,000 turns). Its new redesigned chassis gives it a shorter wheelbase (1,454 mm against 1,470) which should allow it to gain in agility. The indicators are now integrated into the mirrors and the cockpit offers an LCD on-board computer with indication of speed, average speed "and many other functions", summarizes the press kit. The new version of 1,050 cc is announced at the same price as the old one (11,600 €) but the suitcases are still optional, just like the ABS.

The Speed Triple flourishes

Launched 10 years ago, the Speed Triple 2005 retains its raw foundry appearance mixed with an indefinable touch of British refinement. And if there’s one that this revitalizing regimen works particularly well, it’s the Speed Triple! Especially since only its price has not taken anabolic compared to the old one (10 990 €).

With its new chassis, inverted fork, redesigned swingarm, radial brakes and stocky exhausts "not under the saddle but almost", the new vintage of the bad roadster is likely to be a hit. Its new 1050 cc DOHC three-cylinder injection engine, designed according to Triumph for "develop a lot of torque at low and medium speed", delivers 130 hp at 9,100 rpm with a maximum torque of 105 Nm at 5,100 rpm.

Available in black, blue or yellow, will the Speed Triple manage to keep all the brutality that makes it so charming, with its new gearbox with angled selector and its new anti-noise and anti-play clutch? Hopefully it won’t be "Mission Impossible III" … until we check it in a future test !
