Road rallies - Rally of Corsica: Imperial Piazza! - Rankings

As expected, it was Paul-Christian Piazza, the native of the country, who won everything this weekend and won the 6th Corsica rally on the handlebars of his KTM 450 EXC. A customer for the final title? Report.

Rankings

In the final scratch of this sixth Corsica rally, we therefore find an absolute winner in the person of Paul-Christian Piazza (KTM 450 EXC), who took the best times of all the stages, without any exception! It naturally also occupies first place in the Mono category..

The second is Carulu Biancucci on KTM 990 SMR, first Topsport. This excellent island rider was only present for the Corsican event and therefore does not claim the 25 second points that go to Michel Marchini on Honda 450 HM, third Scratch of the rally (second Mono).

Congratulations to the fourth who is none other than the first in Espoir, Flavien Coitoux on KTM 690 SMC, who also climbs on the third step of the Mono classification.

Second place in Topsport goes to Bruno Langlois on Ducati 1100 Streetfighter (fifth Scratch) while Site and official KTM rider Julien Toniutti on KTM 990 Superduke is third in Topsport (sixth Scratch).

If the Laur / Ferrieu team retains the lead in the sidecar classification (32nd Scratch), Amblard / Bourdieux takes second place at the handlebars of his old Choda 1100 ZZR (36th Scratch) team, ahead of the Choda Benelli 1130 TNT of the Marlin / Vignant crew (38th Scratch).

The Sport category is won by Thierry Canazzi on KTM 400 EXC (15th Scratch), ahead of Laurent Corchia (Suzuki 650 Gladius, 18th Scratch) and Louis Rossi (Suzuki 400 DRZ S, 31st scratch). In Classics, Nick Ayrton (37th Scratch) snatches victory in the category riding his Suzuki 1100 GSXR from the nose and beard of Patrick Cosnuau’s Honda 750 VFR (39th).

Finally Dominique Subias on Yamaha 125 WRX made the experience speak and won the 125 category following a penalty taken on the course by Jean-Laurent Beill on KTM 125 Duke.

We therefore witnessed a superb race in general, but above all from the young Corsican driver Paul-Christian Piazza, more than promising, who may well be a serious client for the supreme title in 2012! There are now four "continental" events: next meeting on May 19 and 20 at Cerdon (01) for the third round of the championship !
