A real sick thing that this first Ultimate Rally, on roads which have "road" only in name: narrow, rutted, stony, earthy, all with incessant changes of direction every 100 m, 200 m, rarely greater than 1 km, to be followed only in the road book and without signs on the ground … In short: heavy, very heavy !

A lot of "gardening" (small errors of course in rally language), refueling at petrol pumps every 100 km and the fatigue that accumulates hour by hour does not help … Very quickly, the pilots of the Team MNC, Moon and myself Himself in person, do not bet a kopek on the possibility of checking in on time at Marcillat…

The icing on the cake: a thunderstorm suddenly comes to greet us over the last 50 kilometers … Morality: more than 2h30 late! As the exclusion applies to latecomers over 1 hour, the adventure ends there for the riders of the Journal moto du net…

And as the five liaison courses were of the same ilk for everyone among the 112 drivers who arrived at Marcillat (out of 145 starters), only 54 will clock in with less than an hour’s delay at Marcillat !

The survivors of that night "Dantesque"- according to the expression of Etienne Godart, who came first in Marcillat – therefore take the start of the 350 km day loop with three specials (road special in Bois des Crozes, 15 laps of the Châtre circuit and 6 laps of Marcillat kart circuit by series of eight drivers).

A more "normal" loop, "pleasant"even according to several competitors, believing that"it was worth it to hold on !"Even if after ten hours of night-time travel in the paws, the survivors do not spontaneously have a smile on their face except Patrick Curtat, the happy man !

In the Bois des Crozes special (the only road special of the day), Etienne Godart (Ducati Monster 1100 n ° 7) slammed the best time ahead of Nicolas Derrien (KTM n °), Patrick Curtat (KTM n °) and Michael Pefaure ( Yamaha n °), interim Team Site rider while Florent Parret of Team 202 falls and breaks his collarbone.

On the La Châtre circuit, David Magnan (Triumph) won ahead of Pascal Leger (Triumph) and Wilfried Tallone (Yamaha) while on the kart circuit, Wilfried Tallone performed a remarkable performance on the handlebars of his Yamaha 450 WR, for which this type of circuit is a real playground! The Supermot, don’t forget: Wil scores the best time ahead of David Magnan and Pascal Leger.

On the Classic side, the current leaders have also worked on this very technical circuit. The runner-up in the category, Robert Degaudez (n ° 259), managed to grab a few tenths of a second from his leader Dominique Wills (N ° 260).

Finally, only one side is still in the race (that of the Quilbault / Bulot crew on Suzuki TLS Choda n ° 170) after the misadventure of Laforest / Moreau, victim of an incident in connection. The two pilots are fortunately unharmed, but the basket was damaged, forcing the crew to abandon.

In the day’s standings, we therefore find Wilfried Tallone leading the rally ahead of Pascal Leger and David Magnan.

The competitors then investigated the night special on Friday evening at 11:00 p.m .: 170 km of liaison with only one special, that of Marcillat (that of Bois des Crozes, which was also scheduled to take place at night, was canceled due to significant delays. on the program): to be continued … Stay connected !
