Road rallies - The shortest final in history -

The Nice event of the French Rally Championship came to an end following its cancellation by the Prefecture due to weather risks. The provisional classification therefore becomes final and Serge Nuques cedes his crown to Philippe Richelmi.

From the simple pedestrian race to the Rallye des Baous, all the Provencal sportsmen and the "finalists" of the French Road Rally Championship 2005 had to pack up their gear and return to their home … Too bad for those who came from far away !

Big general disappointment at the announcement of the cancellation, even if the reason given was final … we do not play with nature! Suddenly, the provisional classification of the French Championship becomes final and it is the "local" of the canceled stage, Philippe Richelmi, "top driver" of the discipline on his Aprilia 1000 RSV n ° 9, who is crowned with ” a well-deserved scratch title after a remarkable season !

Philippe also won the Topsport category ahead of the old "King" Marc Troussard on his Yamaha FZ6, who could have taken advantage of the absence of the knight Sergei (occupied by other crusades …) to climb on the second step of the podium " scratch "… Marc remains third in the scratch and Serge Nuques 2nd (3rd Topsport).

In the Mono category, Pierre Lemos won ahead of Thierry Canazzi who did not start very confident in this final round of the championship anyway because of a somewhat recalcitrant gearbox on his 450 Husqvarna….

Thierry was only one point behind Pierre, particularly disappointed by the cancellation because he was unable to test his new fighter plane, a 525 KTM "inflated" to 576 cc with which he will participate in the Dark Dog Moto Tour. We also find Pierre Lemos in 5th place in the scratch … a nice stroke !

Still in the Mono category, note the fall of Olivier Gabillon (6th scratch) during the reconnaissance, which they were not canceled. Victim of several fractures to his shoulder and arm, Olivier was due to set off for the Dark Dog Moto Tour in 15 days … Too bad !

In the Sport category, Mickaël Pefaure won the crown hands down, his lead in points acquired during the previous events having put him relatively safe. Daniel Dunaud therefore places his 200 KTM 2-stroke in second position. A good deal for the Croc Sliders Rallye Team (CSRT) which places two drivers in places of honor !

In sidecar, Sam Gache and David Chanal had the title already in their pockets before this event. They therefore did not come, which ultimately saved them unnecessary travel! Bruno Marlin and Maryline Hudon, also absent, found themselves second in the championship while Herve Laur and his companion of passenger Marie-Laure Ferrieu, who had to defend their third place, saw it confirmed by the cancellation of the event. All’s well that ends well for these tender Toulouse people !

For the Classics, the last fight that did not take place is Eric Sarafis who will be crowned French champion in the category ahead of Gerard Rolland, both on magnificent 350 RDLCs. Gerard might have been able to "take back" the 15 points which separated him from Eric, but they will have nevertheless played a superb championship with an excellent Pierre Godart who finished third in the 2005 edition..

The Col de Turini will not have frightened anyone this year and the rallymen will not have had to do battle on the Loda link, the most technical part of the course and the most beautiful of the whole championship … Too bad for those who waited impatiently !

In the category "I have the balls", let us note the beautiful first place of Yann, come from Lille expressly for his first rally and who will be satisfied to assist the Groland team on the Dark Dog Moto Tour…

The second step of the disappointed podium goes to Greg, who had every intention of "entering" Marc Troussard to steal his place on the scratch podium! He will have to stay in the shadows … but still in the fourth scratch place !

The elders and their elders had come to ride and it’s not "little pebbles on the road"who were going to prevent them! So they left on Saturday morning for a tourist loop !

To conclude the series of disappointments, let us finally note the philosophical words of Didier Chambost, former pilot delegate to the Federation: "luckily gasoline is not expensive, otherwise it would have pissed me off to charge 2,000 terminals for nothing !"

The Chevalier Serge Nuques therefore hands his crown of champion to Philippe Richelmi who will not participate in the Dark Dog Moto Tour (read), but who will be found at the start of the opening of the 2006 championship with the number 1 plate. !
