After the success of the first Tunisian Moto Tour, the 2015 edition is already in the pipeline: the Tunisian government, delighted by this rally perceived as a "symbol of peace and democracy", will once again host the Option event Sports Events with open arms.

After the success of the first, the 2015 edition is already in the pipeline: the Tunisian government, delighted by this rally perceived as one, will once again welcome the Option Sports Events event with open arms.

The first edition of the Tunisian Moto Tour was indeed a real success and Tunisia is resolutely a land of welcome for the road rally since the discipline has gradually moved there..

On the way to Jordan…

David Bournisien, co-organizer alongside Marc Fontan, does not hide his ambitions: "I am very happy with the success of this rally and the Tunisian Moto Tour 2015 will take place, it is already confirmed".

Towards a world road rally championship

France, Tunisia, Jordan … David Bournisien does not hide the final objective of these rallies: "after Jordan there will very probably be other international events in 2016 and the following years, because the final objective of Option Sports Events is the creation of a world road rally championship ".

The group now led by Sam Thomas intends to renew its, which finally included the and the project of the Italian Moto Tour. .

But Option Sports Events does not intend to be confined to Tunisian lands … In 2015, in addition to the Dark Dog Moto Tour in France and the Tunisian Moto Tour in Tunisia, it will also be necessary to take into account the Jordan Moto Tour organized in … Jordan, thanks in particular to the interpersonal skills of Patrick Hornstein of the Red Zone agency.

"The King of Jordan offered us two planes including a cargo ship for the transport of pilots and motorcycles", specifies David Bournisien: "Option Sport Events therefore jumped at the opportunity and launched the realization of a rally in the style of Tunisian in Jordan ".

This particular style of rally – less restrictive than the French rallies which must comply with the "draconian" rules of road regulations – pleased the competitors, without endangering the participants. Because with the experience of the 11 editions of the Dark Dog Moto Tour, Option Sports Events knows its work well and the essential safety rules are strictly respected..

The dates of the Jordan Moto Tour have not yet been defined, but naturally the Journal moto du Net will not fail to inform its readers as soon as possible..

Video review of the 1st Tunisian Moto Tour

In the meantime, back to this first Tunisian Moto Tour: a race with an omnipresent sporting side but in an exceptional atmosphere of solidarity and dilettante. No transponders for the lap times and time checks, the organization is not there to corner a driver in a careless time check !

The technical controls are "wide" and the excess decibel does not penalize the pilot, but on the other hand the controls are permanent on the condition of the helmet and the presence of a dorsal protection plate in the back of the pilot….

The course was magical, with roads – paved or not – of all styles (see video) and specials certainly favoring "Supermot" style motorcycles but where horses were sometimes also an advantage….

In short, a great victory for the young Sebastien Lagut on the handlebars of his Yamaha 450 YZF, a high-level ex-crossman and rather at ease on the stages, but who nevertheless had a hard time facing the Site rider Julien Toniutti, also on a Yamaha 450 YZF from Team 2B / Deletang.

Too bad Julien was stupid because the battle would have been bloodier, but it is the race and it is the best who won !

Congratulations to Franck Coudert who led his Ducati 1200 Monster skilfully during this rally, obtaining third scratch place and first in Multicylinders.

Too bad also that the former boxer Franck Tiozzo, godfather of the Tunisian Moto Tour who led his imposing Victory almost from start to finish, fell stupidly on a speed reducer … Bravo to Franck for having reached this point and having passed all the difficulties of the course on this superb motorcycle not really suitable for this kind of use … and with a smile !

This very appreciable exotic rally also allowed great encounters between bikers of all stripes from all over France and elsewhere, such as Florian Daz Piaz the Mahorais who came from Mayotte to participate in the adventure on the handlebars of his BMW HP4. . to Yamaha fairings !

Behind the leaders, the first in each category were rewarded during the closing prizes, like Jean-Pierre Saligne, first 125cc … on two participants !

Ditto for Jean Berrabah, first in the 3-wheel category on his Spyder Can Am, whose category hardly had more competitors than the 125.

Same punishment for the Scooter category dominated by Mathieu Bruneau riding his Honda Integra: 10th in the final general classification !

Congratulations also to Dominique Wils, first classic on his Honda 600 XLR from the 80s, without brakes or horses who finished eighth overall !

Finally, she was not called during the awards ceremony (!), But let’s salute the performance of Karine Sliz, our Moto et Motards colleague, first girl in the rally and 15th scratch on the handlebars of her KTM 690 Duke.

In short, a great adventure that gives only one desire: quickly relive another of the same kind! In the meantime, highly recommend it. As every year, Site will naturally be on site with its special envoys to help you experience the race from the inside, so a tip: stay connected !
