MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR 2017: top model…
If the Tre Pistoni 800 cc had calmed down slightly in 2016 with the arrival of the Euro 4 version in the heart of the – nicely – redesigned Brutale 800, this is not the case with the new Brutale 800 RR which still spits 140 horses. Attention, the adorable GaRce is back…
Launched in 2016 on the, the 798 cc "Made in Varese" had lost -7.2% of its power compared to the previous mill (116 hp in total therefore) but had progressed in torque: according to its designers, 90 % of the 83 Nm reached at 7600 rpm were available from 3800 rpm … Royal.
However, for those responsible for the brand as for certain customers, the maximum values displayed by this "B3 800" were not enough … In 2017, the RR version should therefore satisfy them since the Tre Pistoni equals the maximum power of the ( 140 hp at 13,100 rpm) and improves the maximum torque (86 Nm 3000 rpm lower). Imperial !
In terms of chassis, the new Brutale 800 RR differs from the "short" Brutale 800 by its carefully machined forged rims. The rest is carried over: tubular steel trellis in the center, 43mm Marzocchi inverted fork and 320mm twin discs with Brembo 4-piston calipers at the front, Sachs damper, aluminum single-sided and 220mm disc clamped by a caliper 2-pistons at the rear.
The lines of the "RoadsteR" are modeled on those of the current Brutale and only the paintwork changes: the RR offers a red "Shock Perlato" or a white "Ice Perlato", both mixed with black "Carbon Metallico". Finally, the electronics have been updated and the quickshifter (Up and Down) comes standard.
Listed at 15,670 € on the official MV Agusta France website, the Brutale 800 RR 2017 costs 2,180 euros more than the standard version, or 91 euros per additional horse. Will the account be good for the new Italian top model and for MV Agusta which relies on its very high-end products – and on its – to revive itself? Stay connected !
