New Yamaha TMax 2017 scooter: first information
After 15 years of loyal service – and 233,000 copies sold worldwide! -, the new Tmax 2017, best seller of maxi-scooters in Europe, appears this time in three more or less well-equipped versions: standard, SX and DX.
The famous Yamaha Tmax scooter, launched in 2001, had gradually evolved by adopting injection and a double disc at the front in 2004 then ABS in 2005 () before being completely overhauled in 2008 (), then in 2012 from 499 to 530 cc with a final belt transmission ().
"The Tmax is like a ‘blank canvas’ for customers who want to make it their own by adding various parts and accessories," says Yamaha. The sportier SX version offers two driving modes (T for City and S for Sport) and specific colors, while the DX version, the most luxurious, adds cruise control, an adjustable screen and handles. and heated saddles.
The 2017 Tmax retains its liquid-cooled 530cc twin, belt-driven final drive, aluminum frame and inverted fork, but it adopts – "for the first time on a Yamaha continuously variable transmission (CVT) model" , underlines the manufacturer – the electronic control of the opening of the throttle (YCC-T), like the sports of the mark (including the).
9 kg less and more traction control
