Unveiled last month at the Cologne Intermot in its SP (single-seater) and SP2 (compe-client) versions, the new CBR1000RR Fireblade "quite simply" – but barely less sharp – throne as expected on the Honda stand at the Eicma show from Milan. First information.

Expected for several years by fans of the winged brand – and in vain by the rider Jonathan Rea, double and with … Kawasaki! -, the all new Honda Fireblade arrives in 2017 with the firm intention of moving up in the Superbike classification, on the track as on the road !

Presented a month ago at the Intermot 2016 in Cologne, the CBR1000RR "tout court" is exhibited this week at the Eicma 2016 in Milan in its livery – a little – more road: with saddle and footrest passage, please !

Two-seater approved – unlike the two SP versions -, the 2017 Fireblade will unfortunately not be twice as financially accessible … Its less prestigious equipment, however, allows it to reduce the bill by a few thousand euros, while the full weight is only one kilogram (196 kg).

MNC notes in particular that the Ohlins S-EC piloted suspensions of the "SP-ortive" versions are replaced by Showa components (Big Piston in front, Balance Free Rear Cushion behind), while the Brembo monobloc front brake calipers are giving way to Tokico (radial mounting, phew!) And that the tank is no longer made of titanium…

In terms of engine and electronics, the RR is based on the SP: same power and hardly less torque, list still impressive driving aids (see key points below). And if the quickshifter (Up & Down) joins the catalog of options, the TFT screen remains in the standard equipment.
